The New Century Contemporary Art Foundation is about to present a case study exhibition of artist Qiu Xiaofei. During the four-month exhibition period, two completely different exhibition structures and narrative methods are used to present Qiu Xiaofei's latest creations and his experience in the past nearly Two decades of painting have repeatedly explored and pursued the meaning of painting in a spiral trajectory.

Qiu Xiaofei's creative endpoints often originate from personal family memories and daily experiences, but they never stop at these shallow images, but explore the undercurrents beneath the surface from the deeper depths of thinking and consciousness.

In the first stage of the exhibition (September 12-October 21, 2020), Qiu Xiaofei's latest painting "Red" is presented in a focused manner. In a sudden whirlpool that changes everyone's life, the artist's experience of the situation of human beings and the world changes into colors and images, in which growth and death, splendor and cruelty, and the sense of conflict are stretched on the screen. This sense of conflict can also be felt between the bright exhibition halls and the dark and dilapidated aisles.

In the second stage of the exhibition (October 31, 2020-January 9, 2021), many groups of works from different periods of the artist are displayed in a non-linear mixed and connected way, trying to reveal the artist's creative path. There is a continuous work beyond the self that includes forward and look back.

For Qiu Xiaofei, the relationship between the objective world and the spiritual world, the real world and the imaginary world is constantly changing and blending, and painting is a way to understand the world and even create a world that we cannot understand.
