The 4th Xinjiang·China International Art Biennale

On July 28, 2024, the "Inner Pulse—4th China Xinjiang International Art Biennale" officially opened with great acclaim at the Xinjiang Art Museum’s Art Corridor. The exhibition is divided into four major sections and features one parallel show, showcasing a total of 263 artworks or groups of works by artists from 14 countries and regions, including China, Italy, Germany, Kazakhstan, and others.
As a nationally recognized cultural exchange brand event, heavily supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People's Government of the Autonomous Region, the China Xinjiang International Art Biennale has successfully held three editions to date. It has become a vibrant cultural ambassador for Xinjiang, serving as a vital bridge that fosters greater interaction, dialogue, and mutual understanding among countries along the Belt and Road Initiative. Beyond revitalizing Xinjiang’s cultural and artistic development, the biennale has also significantly boosted the international visibility and reputation of "Xinjiang is a wonderful place," while further enhancing the global influence and reach of Chinese culture.
Module 1.
Digital Hub
Echoing the Biennale’s theme of “Pulsating Heartlands,” the vast hinterland once again emerges as a vital hub in the global digital network, radiating profound energy and vitality. Here, the “station” is dynamic—physical, informational, and even virtual—sparking new connections and fostering relationships between Xinjiang and regions across the East and West. To grasp the significance of the digital station within the context of digital globalization, this section will delve into how the art world is responding to—and reflecting upon—emerging digital technologies and media. Together, we’ll explore the multi-layered aesthetic logic woven by data algorithms, while envisioning a future shaped by diverse, forward-thinking imaginaries.
Module 2.
Ecological Code
The vast continent and expansive nature are the very foundations of human existence—and the nurturing motherland that sustains our spirits. In an era where modernization intertwines seamlessly with agricultural traditions, it’s time to rediscover the once-overlooked wisdom of harmonious coexistence. By striving for an ideal state of mutual dependence, balance, and unity between the human and natural worlds, we can unlock fresh perspectives for shaping a sustainable future. This unit explores Xinjiang’s unique geographical and ecological features, tracing the profound value and meaning of land and nature in shaping human life. It also broadens our understanding by bridging past and present, offering both emotional solace and intellectual reflection along the way.
Module 3.
Silk Road Smart Integration
The "Silk Road Zhirong" unit focuses on the cultural concept of the Land Silk Road, starting from its geographical threads. Artists’ creative practices unfold based on the cultural and material exchanges along the Silk Road, seamlessly integrating with cutting-edge technology and new media. This approach showcases a modern reinterpretation that merges innovative artistic expression with contemporary ideas, reimagining and reconnecting the Silk Road’s vibrant visual landscape today.
Module 4.
Combined Resonance
The "Synergistic Resonance" unit aims to uncover a shared quest for cultural roots through the diverse expressions of culture and art. At this pivotal moment—where globalization intersects with regional cultures, giving rise to cross-pollination and mutual influence—artists are exploring unexpected, multifaceted perspectives and profound philosophical reflections, not only in their choice of materials and techniques but also in their very modes of existence. This convergence is fostering groundbreaking artistic explorations and practices that resonate globally.

The Realm of Symbiosis
The exhibition "Harmony in the Realm" uses Xinjiang's century-long art history as its lens, drawing on the historical culture, human geography, natural ecosystems, and societal narratives depicted in the artworks to craft a multifaceted, three-dimensional portrayal of Xinjiang—rich with temporal depth, spatial dimensions, and clear evolutionary threads. This vision directly engages with and responds to the four thematic units explored in the biennale, highlighting Xinjiang's unique position as the "heartland" of Eurasia. Through this immersive experience, the exhibition unveils an authentic, compelling, and vibrant cultural heritage—and contemporary reality—of the region. Notably, the exhibition has also been selected as one of the featured projects for the "2024 National Museum Collection Exhibition Season," organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Exhibition Prelude
This time, Top-Space is honored to participate in the 4th China Xinjiang International Art Biennale, providing art services for the exhibited artworks. The exhibition features a total of 263 individual works or groups created by artists from 14 countries and regions, including China, Italy, Germany, Kazakhstan, and others. Notably, Top-Space was entrusted with handling the international and domestic transportation as well as the installation services for all the showcased pieces.
Top-Space is a company centered around art-related services. Founded in Beijing in 2014, the company currently has three branches located in Beijing, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong. Its services span across professional areas such as international transportation of artworks (including rare pieces); customs clearance for artworks entering and leaving the country; on-site support at domestic and international art fairs; art warehousing; bonded storage for artworks; art trading and finance; and art insurance.
