Guangdong Art Centennial Exhibition

A century of cultural heritage comes together once again as the grand art feast kicks off. On October 18, the opening ceremony of "Reform Mission – A Century of Guangdong Art," a key event within the 24th China Shanghai International Arts Festival, was held with great splendor at the Shanghai Museum of Art (China Art Palace). A century of cultural legacy reunites, marking the beginning of an unforgettable artistic celebration.

"Renewing Its Mission—A Century of Guangdong Art Exhibition" brings together over 800 masterpieces and sets of outstanding works from Guangdong’s rich artistic heritage, spanning nearly 20,000 square meters of exhibition space. The show is organized into seven thematic sections interwoven with three special projects, creating a narrative that unfolds across multiple layers. Complemented by extensive and meticulously curated historical documents and visual materials, the exhibition offers visitors a multi-dimensional and immersive art experience.

This grand exhibition has made its debut in Shanghai, marking a heartfelt reunion with a century of cultural heritage. The Lingnan School of Painting, celebrated as a treasured gem of Lingnan culture, first announced its revolutionary spirit right here in Shanghai—this vibrant, open-minded city that nurtured artistic innovation. By hosting this exhibition, we pay tribute to that historic legacy while also continuing the vibrant cultural collaboration between these two regions in the modern era. Together, Guangdong and Shanghai are joining forces, using the exhibition as a powerful bridge to foster an enriching platform for artistic dialogue. This initiative not only strengthens cultural exchange and mutual learning between the Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta region but also drives their integrated development, showcasing tangible progress in creatively transforming and innovatively advancing China’s time-honored traditional culture.

This exhibition is fully supported by Top-Space in terms of art services, which include: professional custom packaging at the level of cultural relics, climate-controlled and humidity-stabilized air-cushioned vehicle transportation, as well as booth setup and dismantling services.

As an integral part of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, the exhibition features an impressive array of artworks—over 800 pieces or sets—spanning across numerous cities and regions throughout China. This extensive distribution poses significant challenges for the initial collection process. To address these challenges, the Top-Space team has meticulously crafted a transportation strategy that involves phased extraction and multi-point coordination, along with precisely planned routes. This comprehensive approach ensures the absolute safety of each artwork during collection, packaging, and transit. Tailored, state-of-the-art packaging solutions, designed specifically to accommodate the unique characteristics and dimensions of cultural relics and art objects, are employed. Additionally, specialized, oversized temperature- and humidity-controlled air-cushion vehicles are used for transportation. As a result, all artworks are guaranteed to arrive at the museum on schedule, ready for the subsequent installation and exhibition setup.
